Suggestion Box-Tomorrow’s Training Topics

The fun of being a “boutique” training house is that we get to pick and choose topics that interest us most. We’re always looking for ideas that will lead to training that is original, fresh, and of course, meets client needs. We can also develop courses intended for a limited or small audience.

Courses that Meet Your Needs

If you have any wish list ideas for new credit training topics, or fresh approaches to more traditional topics, please send them in. Here is the project we’re currently working on, to be available in early 2003:

Credit CaseFolio: Serious Case Studies for Credit Training

In collaboration with Caliber Commercial Corporation, we’re currently developing a series of comprehensive case studies. Designed to supplement classroom training experiences for developing commercial lenders, Credit CaseFolio cases are comprehensive skill practice and testing vehicles. We’re currently developing a series of modular case studies, meaning you can choose case studies to meet your specific skill-building needs. For example, you may want to use a case study that features analysis of company owners’ financial statements and tax returns, or owner-occupied real estate issues, or both. We’re building the cases to allow many such options.

All cases are designed to truly challenge the developing lender. They’re meaty and complex, allowing you to require application of skills learned in your curriculum, such as financial statement analysis, cash flow analysis, tax return analysis, industry research, etc. We use some of these cases in our own 13-week lender development program (offered through RMA, the Risk Management Association). We believe that the value of our individual courses is greatly enhanced when learning is tested through cases that grow in complexity as our participants learn more skills.

Each case includes detailed discussion notes for the in-bank training resource to use when critiquing or debriefing the case assignments. Or…we’ll be happy to come in to conduct the debrief sessions for you.

Send us an E-mail with your 2¢ on interesting training topics. We’ll post the responses we get.
