The Small Business Toolbox
This course provides a toolkit of skills for individuals who have small business marketing responsibilities, but who are uncomfortable discussing financial statements, credit, or business strategy with small business owners. The course enables participants to understand their bank’s small business strategy, structure, and underwriting approach, and it helps eliminate the fear of financials and tax returns shared by many newcomers to small business lending.
Participants learn why businesses borrow, and they learn through critical evaluation just how and why their bank’s financial products and services meet those borrowing needs. They also learn to formulate specific questions to help ease into conversations with small business owners, both to establish professional credibility and to assess financial services needs. Participants leave this course feeling more confident, comfortable, and enthusiastic when working with small business owners. (Four modules of 2-3 hours each)
